What are you doing on 11-11-11?
Take a trip around Birmingham’s number 11 bus route
On Friday the 11th of November the date is 11-11-11 and there is just one opportunity to step back to the 1950s and take a trip around Birmingham’s Outer Circle bus route and enjoy those halcyon days of municipal transport.
The Outer Circle is believed to be Europe’s longest urban bus route and our mode of transport will be Birmingham City transport bus number 2976 which has been preserved in full working order by Wythall Transport Museum.
We are leaving from near Sarehole Mill at 11am on 11-11-11 and setting off in an anticlockwise direction taking in Acocks Green, Yardley, Bromford Bridge, Erdington then stopping off for a break in Witton. The journey will continue through Perry Barr, Handsworth, Winson Green, Harborne, Selly Oak, Bournville and Kings Heath.
During the journey there will be guided tour drawing your attention to the numerous items of historical and other interest that our relatively young city can boast on or around the 27 mile route.
Tickets are £11.00 each and all the proceeds are being donated to charity.
To book your tickets you can text or leave a message on 07405 849192, or you can email outercirclebus@1066.uk.com.
We will then contact to you to get your details and arrange payment.
