The Tour!

It was September 2014 when we last ran a tour on the Outer Circle Bus Route – the Number 11. We’ve decided that after a number of successful tours of the 11 route and several of our “Cotswolds” tours, not to run any more. We’re not getting any younger and we felt that the concept had run its course. Everyone that came with us enjoyed themselves (see our comments page) and we had great fun conducting them. We learned a lot about our home city and this inspired us to become tour guides at the Back-to-Backs, the Hippodrome and The Coffin Works.

We were asked if we had a printed version of the tour, and have not been able to produce one until now. A while ago we serialised the tour on BRUMPIC.com in six “stages” starting here at Sarehole Mill and now we’ve reproduced the complete tour here on our own site.

So find the tour here on your PC and print it out or find it on a mobile device. Then take yourself along to Sarehole Mill get on the 11A and have a great few hours out and about in BRUM! You can of course start where ever you like, and many folk would be recommended to hop off the No 11 at Witton and take a break at the cafe in Tesco.

We’ve now put a copy of our map of the Outer Circle on this site. Click here to go to the map.

Good luck – and let us know how you got on!

But there’s even more – we are now giving talks to local history groups and other interested folk. The talk lasts just over an hour and it accompanied by over a hundred slides. If you are involved with such a group, or know some one who is, then you can contact us by emailing info@outercirclebus.com or clicking on the “Comments” tab below this message.

Is there any chance of you sharing your wonderful annotated map of the route, that you distributed at your B2B talk? My sister, CJ also at B2B, shared a photo, but it’s difficult to read. I’m sure many would welcome a proper pdf, for the day we hop on the 11a.

Came across your pages some time back but have only just re-found them and felt I should get in touch. Memories of Cannon Hill, BHBN and School Road.
